Big Art Mob

19Jun08

The Big Art Mob is an iniative setup by Channel4 to document and record the wealth of Public Art around the UK, plotting a national map of pieces found and submitted. Participants are invited to setup a Big Art Moblog on the site so that you can submit photos of any pieces that you spot. You can submit via MMS or direct from your PC. Check out the site to see all of the work submitted so far and if you spot anything on your way to work then post it on the site!

Hot Dawg by Alex Hornsby

This little gem is by Alex Hornsby. I don’t know him, but judging by the Special Delivery sticker on one of his sketchbooks he must be a winchester head, check more of his work out at www.alexhornsby.co.uk, well worth peak if you can drag yourself off of facebook for 10 minutes.

Big Art Mob actually has a scope beyond street art – it is mapping all Public Art across the UK including old bronze geezers on horses and curvy Henry Moores.

It’s even catching on a bit beyond these shores (check out the Big Art Map).

BTW greetings from another branch of the Gees.
