The iconic instant film that is polaroid is to be discontinued. In February Polaroid announced that they would cease production of their instant film. After this blow to all those that have grown up with and love the anticipation as you wait for the blurry scene to reveal itself, a wave of sites set up shop campaigning to bring the format back.
The most prominent of these sites www.savepolaroid.com, has setup a Flickr group and invites everyone to share their stories and photos with the group. The site is an enourmous pool of resources all dedicated to the history and future of Polaroid Film as we know it. Well worth a read through and if, like me, you’re a fan upload your flicks and story to the group.
Dazed & Confused are also running a articles on their site, with a 24 page spread dedicated to Polaroid.
It seems that Polaroid have joined forces with, Zinc, the producers of a “mobile instant” printer, which I doubt will in any way make up for the loss of the original Polaroid Film.
