our good friends at UnderTheHat return home to basingstoke with their night visual tourettes. monday oct 27th is set to see the reurn of the boys after a long summer touring, running and collaborating on jams all over the UK. with an open door, drop your ego policy and commission free sales it’s not one to be slept on. here’s how stolwart of the local scene kev munday describes the night:
Visual Tourettes is an event run by UnderTheHat Clothing, we call it ‘An Open Mic Night For The Art World’. Basically what this means is that we take over a venue for a night and the walls of the place are open to ANYONE who wants to display and try to sell their artwork with a 0% commission. We have large scale illustrations (see pictures for work produced at previous events) being created live on the night from a collective of artists, and DJ’s spinning a mix of hip-hop, dub, funk, soul and chilled out beats.
with live painting, illustration, exhibition space and beats from local heads it’s a night that’s proud to be supporting artists from all over the UK and rightly so. get to it.
