So, for some time now I’ve been on at myself to improve my creative writing skills.
I seem to spend every spare minute reading reviews, blogs, books and articles finding myself in awe of everyone that has this knack of being able to express themselves in a creative way.
I know that creative writing comes with time and practise and a lot of reading. To help me improve my skills I went on the hunt for a good book to help me on my creative path and stumbled upon an absolute gem…

Little Red Writing Book by Brandon Royal, is an amazing piece of literature. The book is extremely easy to read and follow and is broken down into 20 powerful principles of writing.
Little Red Writing Book can be used again and again for reference as it covers the four major pillars in sound writing – structure, style, readability and grammar.
To help those visual learners like myself, the book has been illustrated by Lisa Buchanan. Each detailed illustration makes reading this book even more enjoyable.

So for all those out there that would like to improve their writing skills, I would highly recommend this book.
You can find it on amazon…

There are a few inspiring blogs I regularly check, each for their own reasons:
www.craigkillick.co.uk
Craig is a local business owner and all round web specialist. For business writing, I find Craigs work very inspiring. His business knowledge and creative business writing skills are something I admire and strive to achieve. For anyone interested in SEO I would highly recommend Let’s cut to the chase, which can be downloaded for free from his site.
www.andyrutledge.com
Andy runs an agency way out in Texas, I’m not even sure how I first came about his work. Andy has a creative writing style to die for and I regularly check his blog for updates. I would highly recommend all creatives and wanna be creatives to have a read through Andy’s work. It’s truly inspiring.
www.ilovetypography.com
Johno, who I believe to be the main writer on this site, has his very own unique writing style. I’m often amazed by his knowledge and excitability around all things type. I would highly recommend the week in type (if you have a spare few hours).
