Since the launch of the film all has been quite quiet on the Banksy front, there’s been a few unconfirmed images spotted here and there and few rumours flying around the he was going to release ‘exit through the gift shop’ on DVD.

Well, I’m pleased to announce that the rumours were right and the DVD goes on sale Monday 6th September. You can pre-order from all the big online stores, so go get stuck in! I’ve heard it’s pretty damn god.

Also, there’s been quite a lot added to the Banksy site, including 2 video snippets plus a ton of new work.

AnyForty have just announced their latest comp so we thought it was only right to share it with you…

So here’s the jist…

Basically, ever since we were nippers we’ve been fan’s of US sports in general, so Basketball, American Football, Ice Hockey etc… being fans of those sports and also being obsessed with design and illustration we couldn’t escape being obsessed with the logo’s and branding of some of those teams.

So here’s where you come in, we’re gonna give two of you lucky pups chance to cook up a illo for a tee. You can use up to 5 colours to create a logo illustration for our very own fictional sports team. That’s a complete illustration with mascot, text, the lot.

There’ll be 7 fictional teams to chose from to create branding for, 2 winning pieces will be printed up as part of a future limited edition run of only 40 Sports Pack tee’s. Complete with name of the team on the back and number 40 all those slick details (don’t worry about those, we’ll sort them nearer the time) that are on US sports jersey’s.

The final piece will need to have illustrated name and type of the team, aswell as a mascot(s).

If you’re one of the two winners you’ll get your illustration printed up on a tee and will have your name in the AnyForty hall of fame alongside all the big dogs as well as a pack of 5 screenprints from our recent Versus Exhibition and a a batch of tee’s to give to friends and fam.

Deadline is September 30th and you need to email your final entries as a illustrator ai file to anyforty@gmail.com

About the contest:
This is a collaborative project between Abduzeedo, Landy Cognac & Snoop Dogg. The goal is to create a new commercial for Landy Cognac. To enter the competition you have to visit the abduzeedo site and enter your email address in the form. You will then be provided with the green screen footage of Snoop Dogg’s Landy Cognac commercial. It is up to you to create a well designed and interesting advertisement.

- The contest will run from August 16 – September 13.

Prize:
- Your video will serve as the official Landy Cognac Commercial

The winner will be chosen by Snoop Dogg himself. There will be a full marketing campaign for the realease of the official video. It will also be serviced virally through the Abduzeedo, Landy Cognac & Snoop Dogg website, as well as all over the Snoop Dogg & Landy SNP sites.

The Fenchurch Teefest is a competition to design a new Tee to rock the upcoming festival season.

All you need to do to enter is come up with an original, innovative way of interpreting their iconic logo. Fenchurch have always handpicked the most respected freelance designers out there, and now they’re opening it up to the public.

How it works
Send in your ideas by 1st June 2010, Fenchurch will then select 10 favourite ladies and men’s designs and display them at fenchurch.com, then let the public vote for the winner. The person with the most votes on 11th June 2010 when the competition ends gets to see their design transformed into a Fenchurch tee and sold all over the world. Simple as that.

The Brief
Create a graphic incorporating the iconic Fenchurch logo using the summer festival season as a reference point.

The design can be produced in any medium, from photography to illustration so long as it incorporates the logo and is based on the summer festival theme. Interpret the theme in any way you like. Fun, mud, music, friends….you know the score.

The Prize
The winners will be announced on 11th June 2010. There will be one winner for the men’s Tee and one for the women’s, they will both receive a £200 prize as well as seeing their T-shirt design being produced and sold in stores and on www.fenchurch.com.

Trailer for a forthcoming fixed gear bike film ‘BÖIKZMÖIND’.

Shot in Bristol with a near army of fixed gear and single speed cyclists, the film will focus on the culture and social aspects of the fixed gear scene.

This trailer which premiered at the second ‘No Gears’ night at Bristol’s Cube Cinema on Monday 31st August 2009, represents the first footage to be shown from hours of material gathered so far.

Shot on a JVC Everio HD3 with a Century Optics Wide Angle Lens and various mounts for on bike filming as well as a JVC Everio HD5 with JAG35E DOF adapter and 50mm f1.4 Canon Lens.

Shot and edited by Makinov and Gavin Strange.

Well the film is in full swing now and has gained a fair amount of critics and lovers at the same time.  It’s now showing at various locations across the country so if you get the opportunity to then make sure you go see it.  I’m sure you will not be disappointed.
