For Polaroid fans this will mark a sad time. The Impossible Project are selling off the last stock of TZ Artistic. The story behind TZ Artistic really encapsulates the story behind everyones love of instant photography and what is at the heart of The impossible Project. Just before Polaroid shut down their plant in the Netherlands and the subsequent rescue, Polaroid created a batch of TZ Artistic for The Impossible Project. For this final batch they used expired components and original chemicals from the famed Time Zero film, it also featured the original colour system created by Edwin Land.

Paul Giambarba was the man behind the relaunched Impossible Projects striking package designs, which appeared a year after the film was made in 2008. Now the time has come for The Impossible Project to make space in its warehouse for new stock. So this is your last chance to grab the last remaining TZ Artistic Giambarba Edition. The film produces creamy vintage looking images, which by now, having used expired chemicals, is producing unique magical green tones. You can buy the film from their website at £14 a piece (less than 1000 items remain!).

The fourth, annual If You Could exhibition is underway, yeah I know, I slept on this one. The exhibition, If You Could Collaborate is running until 23 January 2010, 12–6pm (open late on 21 January, 12–9pm) exhibited at the A Foundation Gallery at Rochelle School, London E2 7ES. The idea of this project was to push the boundaries of the normal working life of the contributors. There were no briefs, no restrictions on medium and no particular format. Each of the 33 contributors chose a partner to work with, from any profession, discipline or background and set about creating a piece for submission within the generous 12 month deadline. Works range from classic framed pieces to more ambitious, experimental sculpture, film and installation.

Presented alongside the exhibition is an accompanying 312 page catalogue, documenting the process of each of the pieces along with the final piece submitted. The catalogue is published by It’s Nice That and be bought online for £15 (1500 printed).

As the birthday celebrations come closer, Stussy have teamed up with Ricoh to put out a limited edition GR Digital III. There will be 500 released in Japan in February next year which will mark the iconic brands birthday. As far as spec goes its a straight up GR Digital III with a Stussy twist, you’ll get a 10MP 1/1.7-inch CCD sensor, a 28 mm/F1.9 “GR” lens, 4x digital zoom, ISO sensitivity between 64 and 1,600, a 3-inch LCD display and SD/SDHC/USB ports.

RCA Secret 2009

THE EXHIBITION

RCA Secret is an annual exhibition and sale of original postcard-sized art, made and donated by professional artists, designers and illustrators, plus up-and-coming students from the Royal College of Art. Last year’s exhibition of 2,700 works, included original contributions from Yoko Ono, Paula Rego, Tracey Emin, Grayson Perry, Olafur Eliasson, David Bailey, fashion designer Paul Smith, Stone Roses guitarist John Squire and animator Nick Park to name just a few.

Each buyer may purchase up to four cards, at £40 each.

The exhibition is open for viewing only from Friday 13th November to Friday 20^th November, 11am to 6pm (Thursday till 8pm). The postcards will also be available to view at www.rca.ac.uk/secret from Friday 13th November.

The sale will be on Saturday 21st November 8am-6pm. Raffle tickets for a chance to win a place in the First Fifty in the queue, will be on sale at the exhibition, until one hour before closing on each day, with a maximum of 10 tickets per person.

Please note the following important information:

It is not possible to purchase cards before these dates or on another’s behalf.

You must attend the College in person to buy a card.

You must present your Registered Buyers Number at the sales desk to purchase a card.

Cards are removed from the sale once sold, so we recommend making a list of choices in advance of the sale.

The move marks the 20th anniversary of America’s favourite dysfunctional family and also, reportedly, an attempt to appeal to a younger audience. She joins the ranks of sex symbols like Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford. Along with the cover shot and 3 page inside spread(!),  Playboy also promises a story inside called ‘The Devil in Marge Simpson’. Make your own mind up!
