shaun white – the tomahawk

A while back we posted up about Redbull Project X. A secret project that gives Shaun White access to his own backyard foam pit, and a 550′ private pipe. It took 2 months 250,000 cubic yards of snow to build the pipe, including 30 heli-bombed avalanches that were needed to bring down enough snow to form it. The foam pit is 20′ x 30′ and has 7200 foam blocks to fill it, giving 600 sqft of foam to stamp a few new tricks.

This is where Shaun has been practicing his new trick, the Tomahawk, which is a double McTwist 1260 (2 flips, three and-a-half twists).

Well for all those that tuned in to the mens Olympic halfpipe final, you would have had the pleasure of seeing this executed in his victory lap.

Deeper Teaser

Saw the teaser to Deeper over at the Mpora site and it’s looking so impressive. I’m loving what this film is about, getting back to man and mountain. It isn’t all about big budgets n heli-drops, it’s about a group of dedicated riders putting in the time and effort to get new descents, hopefully proving that big drops don’t always mean big budgets. I look forward to seeing this one!

Flatspot remain one of my favourite stores even though I’m down under and have the likes of General Pants to feed my insatiable need to buy fresh shit. Forever getting drops of the freshest garms you could wish to own in the northern hemisphere. This morning, my time, see’s yet another drop of some stunning stock, some heavy hitting King Stampede hats have landed, alongside a super sic Analog jacket to see you through that autumnal dump. Head to their online store, because it will in no way disapoint, along with the afore mentioned garms, they;ve got classic Carhartt staples and more…don’t sleep.

And err, well probably quite a few things that we don’t know about…all i know is i’ve got my first appearance in court to look forward to after ce soir, la vie est belle non? maybe not as good as the ginger yank, but hey…gotta live with what you’re given i reckon? Shot on Oakley Red and Panasonic HVX cam’s, be sure to see what was put down. I know I can’t wait.

The FBBB 09 Tour is set to be a heavy hitter, with live music, live art, exhibition space and more. The 5 days at the Metro Ski & Snowboard Show are not to be missed if you can get there.

For 2009 FBBB return to the Metro Ski & Snowboard Show, Olympia, London. Our stand will be located on the balcony next to the live-music Gigloo area. With a variety of skate and snowboards on display showcasing work from some of the best up and coming UK and International artists ahead of our ‘Board Art’ exhibit in November. Some of our artists will be in attendance from the wednesday onwards to draw/paint a collaboration piece on the back wall of our exhibition space. Come down, listen to the music acts in the Gigloo area and see the art work expand over the course of the show!
